This review is from: One Eyed Jack (Paperback)
I read this book in two days and while Jack is a bad man, there is something lovable about him that makes you hope he will prevail against the other bad guys. I'm looking forward to the next one. This could be a great TV series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable, entertaining, December 7, 2012
By Silver's Reviews (Pennsylvania)
This review is from: One Eyed Jack (Paperback)
No one wants to be a blackmailer, but someone has to do it, and One-Eyed Jack was the master.
This book is entertaining right from the first sentence. You will be drawn in by the humor, the creative writing approach, and of course the subject matter.
Jack always would be the blackmailing master, but then he came across a situation that needed his blackmailing skills as well as intense detective work which he was also used to and good at. This case was one he had to help with and knew he could. He would get Bill Batty and his crew no matter what. But....what if someone else decided to get in on the deal? That could get quite dangerous.
You will thoroughly enjoy "Jack".....a very likable character despite his dirty deeds. Underneath, though, he was one of the good guys. You will follow Jack through his days of investigation, his personal sacrifices, his hideouts, his creative plotting, and he will amaze you with what technology is out there to spy on others...makes me want to keep my computer turned off and not let my cell phone out of my sight.
This book is a quick, funny, enjoyable, tense-at-time read with a great plot. A lot of research had to go into it unless the author is a tech wizard and just intrinsically knows all about these things. Don't miss this book....it was a delightful, entertaining, creative read with a great main character....thanks, Jack. Mr. Lynch is working on a sequel.
This e-book was given to me free of charge without compensation by the author in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!, November 30, 2012
By John Henderson
This review is from: One Eyed Jack (Paperback)
Let me start by saying I'm not a huge reader of fiction. I typically get bored with fictional stories because so many of them are predictable and slow. But after reading this captivating book, I think I might just give it another chance. The author has done a wonderful job creating a fast-paced story with action, mystery, love and good old fashioned humor. Being a tech geek myself, I couldn't help loving all the gadgets and gizmos One Eyed Jack used to, let's just say, get what he wanted. I found Jack to be a lovable character that I really rooted for, and I cannot wait to see what happens in his next adventure. Do yourself a favor and buy this book. You won't regret it.

From the first introduction of John Sharp aka One Eyed Jack, I knew my anxiety levels would go up. If you want to know why they call him One Eyed Jack.....READ THE BOOK!! Now back to my review... Can you imagine someone knowing some of your deepest dark secrets?
Author Christopher J. Lynch does an excellent job of developing a story that will keep you on the edge of your seats. This Author gives his readers a strong plot, developed characters, and an all around entertaining read.
I'm still not sure if I like John Sharp, but then again... I do like him. That's the best part of reading a story like this - you are invested in the characters. This book was very fast paced, suspenseful, and add a little blackmail to the list you have a winner. Word to the Wise: Don't cross One Eyed Jack!!!
I look forward to see what new drama John Sharp aka One Eyed Jack will find himself in.

Oh, what tangled webs we weave - Can there be a villain with a heart?
This tangled web is a quick read and an engaging novel. I believe it has good writing and a great balance with fascinating incidents and suspense. It is my humble opinion that readers will like the impressive debut novel that Christopher J. Lynch has crafted in an uncertainty of what may or may not happen in this page-turner. I enjoyed reading the twisty tale that is Christopher Lynch's "One Eyed Jack". It contained a balance of drama, intrigue, and suspense that kept me turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down. The author's development of the plot, introduction of the characters, and the description of their surroundings really made me feel as if I were tagging along as the story unfolded. I can totally envision this as the first in a series of "One Eyed Jack's" adventures. This is a great book for a quick read, especially when you don't feel like getting involved with a lengthy novel (i.e. taking on a long plane ride or on a weekend trip.) Makes me think I'd better watch myself a bit closer...this was fiction...right?!?

4.0 out of 5 stars Secret I Don't Want to Keep!, October 1, 2012
By Rossana Snee "Book-a-holic" (Lakewood, CA USA)
This review is from: One Eyed Jack (Paperback)
I just finished One-Eyed Jack by Christopher Lynch. An impressive debut novel. One-Eyed Jack makes his living by fishing out people's worst secrets then having the victims pay him for keeping them. Lucrative business, or so it would seem. His MO changes when he becomes embroiled in one of his victim's other secret. Surprisingly, she brings out another side of him that is typically as hidden as his missing left eye.
I started out not liking the character very much, but as the story unfolded, I discovered that One-Eyed Jack did have a heart after all. He becomes the villain with whom you have a love/hate relationship. Mr. Lynch created a story that flowed easily, kept me turning the pages. His research and knowledge of advanced technology is very strong.
The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars were some editing issues. Other than that, I would recommend One-Eyed Jack if you want entertainment, a fast, and easy read that makes you look over your shoulder when coming out of that hotel room : )
One-Eyed Jack is a secret I don't want to keep. Go read it!

An extortionist, John Sharp, the One Eyed Jack, is in the business of blackmailing victims who have secrets to hide. The author takes us through various escapades until the real star of the novel Marion Holtzinger is introduced, initially as a victim, and subsequently ends up joining forces with John to bring down a common enemy. The author leads us through several twists and turns and we are left wondering if he will ever defeat the enemy. To add to the crime thrills, he throws in several hints about a budding romance between Jack and Marion, leaving us wondering if they will get together.
The novel is fast paced and keeps the reader turning the pages until the very last page. Looking forward to the sequel, The Russian Roulette.

This review is from: One Eyed Jack (Paperback)
I just finished reading One Eyed Jack, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing style and fast pace reminded me of other crime fiction novels by best-selling authors that I've enjoyed. John Sharp is a real bastard when he's got some dirt on you, but a good man to have on your side. I'm looking forward to the sequel!
